Turtle Cove Family Aquatic Center sits inside Lower Huron Metropark rather than operating as a stand-alone private waterpark. That matters because driving visitors usually deal with two different charges: admission to the aquatic center and a Metroparks vehicle-entry pass.
For the rest of the 2026 season, the practical questions are simple: is your date still operating, what will your group actually pay, is a child tall enough for the large slides, can you bring a cooler, and which address or map should you trust when search results disagree?
Turtle Cove 2026: save these numbers before leaving home
The current Huron-Clinton Metroparks page lists Turtle Cove open June 6 through September 7, 2026, with scheduled aquatic-center hours of 11 a.m.–7 p.m. daily. Guests 48 inches and taller are $11 weekdays or $12 weekends and holidays; guests under 48 inches are $9 or $10; children under 30 inches enter free.
Why Google results show different opening dates, hours and addresses
Turtle Cove has been open for years, and several old tourism pages, map directories and cached snippets still circulate. The differences are large enough to create a bad trip if you rely on the first number you see.
Use the current operator page as the planning baseline
For 2026 admission, season dates, aquatic-center hours, child rules, slide height and food policy, use the live Huron-Clinton Metroparks Lower Huron page. It currently lists June 6–September 7 and 11 a.m.–7 p.m. daily.

2026 admission prices: use height before age
Turtle Cove does not use a normal “adult age / child age” ticket chart. The aquatic-center price changes mainly by height, which is also why measuring younger guests at home can save confusion at arrival.

Those are park hours, not permission to swim before 11 a.m. or after 7 p.m. Turtle Cove has its own seasonal facility schedule.
What happened with the June 13 opening notice?
A search result from the Metroparks closure page still contains an older message saying Turtle Cove was closed and “expected to open June 13.” A June 11 local report states that Turtle Cove had already opened on Saturday, June 6, and the current Lower Huron facility page now lists June 6 as the 2026 season start.
Metroparks vehicle passes: the small print that can save money
Every vehicle entering a Huron-Clinton Metropark needs a current daily or annual pass. The 2026 daily vehicle fee is $10. Resident annual pricing applies to people living in Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw or Wayne County.

The annual pass is a windshield vehicle pass. If your household routinely brings two vehicles, each vehicle needs its own pass.
Senior pricing is in-person
The discounted 62+ annual passes are not sold online. Bring identification to a park office or toll booth.
2026 Trade Up program: useful if you saved your daily passes
The current annual-pass page says up to four daily passes from separate visits may be credited toward an annual pass. For the 2026 rules, the daily passes must be dated between January 1 and September 1, and the exchange must be completed in person by September 1.

The park PDF is more useful than a generic pin because Turtle Cove sits inside a long Metropark corridor with several entrances, picnic areas, trails, campground facilities and toll-booth points. Read it once before driving and you will have a much better sense of where the aquatic center sits.

What to do if your map app shows Savage Road
Some older tourism and directory listings use 17845 Savage Road for Turtle Cove. The current official Lower Huron page and current official park PDF instead publish 40151 East Huron River Drive as the park address.
Because the aquatic center is inside the larger park, use the current Metroparks page/PDF for park orientation and follow internal signs once you enter. This is safer than assuming an old third-party street listing is the only correct arrival point.
What you are paying for: four core aquatic experiences
Turtle Cove is not trying to be a giant destination resort with dozens of named slides. Its appeal is a compact family mix: larger slides for qualified riders, an easy float attraction, younger-child splash features and a gradual-entry pool.
Two Large Waterslides

Both 2026 fitness programs happened before regular public opening hours and used the lazy river differently from an ordinary Turtle Cove visit. As of August 29, both scheduled 2026 programs have finished.

Instead of a road course, participants completed 22.4 laps of the lazy river. The official registration listed the event for Saturday, August 1.

Participants had to be at least 42 inches tall.

Add every guest by height, then add $10 for the vehicle unless that vehicle already carries a current annual Metroparks pass.
Measure children before the drive
Under 30 inches affects admission price; 48 inches affects access to the large waterslides. Children age 10 and under also have an adult-accompaniment rule.
Choose full-day or twilight intentionally
If you arrive after 5 p.m., the $8 twilight rate may make sense. If you want slides, changing time, food and a relaxed lazy-river session, two hours may feel short.
