Plan the day around the right gate, right map and right height line
Knott’s Water Park is officially Knott’s Soak City Waterpark, a separately gated 15-acre seasonal waterpark immediately next to Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park. Its current 2026 season runs on select dates from May 16 through September 7.
The useful planning questions are not “does it have slides?” You need to know whether your ticket actually includes Soak City, whether the Gold Pass is worth $29 more than the basic 2027 pass, whether your child belongs in the 42-inch or 48-inch ride group, which map to save, and whether a $199 cabana fixes a real family problem or only adds to the bill.
Knott’s Soak City: the current numbers in one screen
The live Six Flags pages currently show these planning figures. Amounts marked “from” can vary by date or promotion.
First make sure “Knott’s Water Park” means the current Buena Park park
Ticket choice: separate waterpark admission is the first thing to get right
A standard Knott’s Berry Farm theme-park ticket is not the same product as Soak City admission. The current waterpark ticket page makes that distinction explicit.
Soak City Daily Ticket
From $50 Valid on the selected date • taxes may apply • not valid for Knott’s Berry Farm admission.Good Any Day
$70 Single Soak City visit on any public operating day during the 2026 season.Bring-A-Friend
From $39 Up to four discounted tickets • valid passholder must accompany the guest • selected date.Soak City Group Admission
From $42 One complimentary admission for each 15 purchased • meal/drink packages available • separate from Knott’s Berry Farm.Use this decision instead of hunting random coupon codes
You know the date
Start with the $50+ dated product. Paying another $20 for flexibility usually makes little sense when travel dates are fixed.
Date may change
The $70 Good Any Day product removes the selected-date decision within the 2026 operating season.
With a passholder
Check the $39+ Bring-A-Friend product before buying an ordinary ticket for everyone.
15 or more
Price the group product before completing several individual transactions.
Season pass comparison: Gold is the first current tier that lists waterpark access
The official 2027 comparison makes the distinction clear: the basic Season Pass lists Knott’s Berry Farm admission; Gold explicitly adds waterpark admission and West Coast park access.
2027 Season Pass
$99Current sale price. Includes Knott’s Berry Farm admission and current pass benefits, but the live comparison does not list waterpark admission for this tier.
2027 Gold Pass
$129Current sale price. Explicitly includes waterpark admission for eligible West Coast parks and visits for the rest of 2026 plus 2027 under the current promotion.
2027 Prestige Pass
$329Current sale price. Includes all Six Flags park admission, waterpark admission, general parking and premium benefits under the live comparison.
One Soak City day?
A $50+ day ticket costs much less than buying Gold only to visit the waterpark once.
Theme park + repeat visits?
The $30 current jump from basic Season Pass to Gold becomes more meaningful when you will use Soak City or another eligible West Coast park.
Driving frequently?
Gold does not currently list free general parking in the benefit comparison; Prestige does. Regular and Gold holders can currently add 2027 general parking for $90.
The real starting cost is admission plus parking—not admission alone
Opening date and hours: separate the season window from today’s schedule
May 16
The current official Soak City page lists May 16 as the start of the select-date waterpark season.
September 7
The current published seasonal window runs through Labor Day.
Daily operations
Current 2026 planning sources indicate daily operations begin in early June, with shoulder-season select dates around that core summer period.
Calendar controls
Operating times vary by day. The official waterpark page directs guests to the calendar for exact hours.
Map audit: use two maps, not one generic Knott’s screenshot
The official directions page separately publishes a Knott’s Berry Farm map, a Knott’s Soak City Waterpark map and a Knott’s parking map. A waterpark visitor usually needs the last two.
Save the waterpark map
Use it for attraction orientation instead of accidentally planning around Knott’s Berry Farm’s Ghost Town, Boardwalk or Camp Snoopy.
Save the parking map
Open the separate parking resource before approaching Beach Boulevard so the arrival plan is not based on a general resort pin.
Choose one exact meeting point
Mixed-height families can split between thrill and children’s areas without making “near the wave pool” the only reunion plan.
Screenshot before entering
A saved map is easier to use around water than repeatedly reopening a web/PDF viewer.
Parking: current Six Flags pricing replaces the old $35 Knott’s snippet
Daily Parking
$40+Current live product. Taxes may apply. It is not valid for metered, preferred or hotel parking lots.
2027 All Season Parking
$90Current Regular and Gold passholder add-on for general parking during 2027.
General Parking Included
The current 2027 Prestige comparison explicitly lists general parking among its benefits.
Cabana comparison: location matters more than the fanciest chair
All three current cabana types allow up to eight guests, include four inner-tube rentals and advertise poolside food-and-beverage service. Current listings also show a $30 Season Passholder saving.
Shore Break Cabana

42 inches and 48 inches are the two height lines to know before paying
Height changes the value of the park
The Wedge, Tidal Wave Bay, Sunset River, Beach House, Banzai Falls and Laguna Storm Watch Tower all use a 42-inch minimum in current attraction information.
Shore Break and Old Man Falls use the higher 48-inch minimum. That means a family with a child at 41 inches has a substantially different usable attraction mix from a family with a child at 43 inches.
MIN
Shore Break
High thrillA 60-foot, seven-story structure featuring six slide experiences: four Aqua Launch chamber slides plus two dueling tube slides.
MIN
Old Man Falls
Speed slidesThree 63-foot speed slides. The attraction also has specific swimwear restrictions, so clothing matters as well as height.
MIN
The Wedge
Family raftA family raft slide for groups looking for something more shared than the individual speed-slide experience.
MIN
Tidal Wave Bay
Wave poolA 750,000-gallon wave pool with roughly four-foot crests and a zero-depth entrance at the gentler edge.
MIN
Sunset River
Lazy riverA 1,780-foot slow-moving river with additional life-jacket and companion rules for shorter children.
MIN
Beach House
Water playThree-story interactive play structure. Current park information describes roughly 200 water guns, nozzles, sprayers and other interactive features.
MIN
Banzai Falls
RacingA racing-style attraction that gives qualified 42-inch riders another higher-energy option before they reach the 48-inch slides.
MIN
Laguna Storm Watch Tower
Tube slidesCurrent attraction listings use a 42-inch minimum. Follow the attraction sign and staff instructions for remaining restrictions.
AREA
Gremmie Lagoon
Younger childrenA child-focused water-play area. Use posted restrictions for the exact child and feature rather than assigning a made-up blanket minimum.
Life-jacket rules are a separate check from minimum ride height
Tidal Wave Bay
Current attraction rules require life jackets for guests under 52 inches in bare feet, for inexperienced/non-swimmers, and for guests with certain listed medical histories.
Children under 42 inches must wear a life jacket and be accompanied by a supervising companion. One supervising companion may accompany up to two guests under that rule.
Sunset River
Children under 48 inches in bare feet must wear a life jacket.
Children under 42 inches also need a supervising companion. Current legacy attraction guidance says a supervising companion may accompany up to two guests.
Food, water bottles, inner tubes and storage: small rules that affect the bag you pack
Outside food
Current Knott’s FAQ guidance generally prohibits outside food, drinks and snack items inside Knott’s Berry Farm and Soak City.
Water bottles
The current FAQ permits unopened and empty water bottles. Recheck the live “What can I bring?” section immediately before visiting.
Special diets
Baby food and food for guests with special dietary restrictions are permitted under the current published FAQ guidance.
Large coolers
The current FAQ specifically identifies large coolers larger than 1 × 1 × 1 foot among items not allowed.
Ride-required tubes
Current FAQ guidance says inner tubes are available free at attractions that require them, but those tubes remain at the attraction after the ride.
All-day tube
Visitors wanting a personal tube for the day can use the separate Tube Rental stand under current FAQ guidance.
Locker
The current Soak City information page confirms lockers as a guest service. The ticket page also routes visitors to advance locker rentals.
Cashless
Knott’s maintains cashless-payment and Cash-to-Card FAQ sections. Check current accepted payment before arriving with cash only.
Swimwear
Ride-specific clothing rules can be stricter than pool-deck rules. Old Man Falls, for example, restricts metal/plastic ornamentation.
Official accessibility and Guest Assistance Guide audit
Knott’s links a dedicated Soak City Guest Assistance Guide from both the waterpark and accessibility areas. That document should control disability-specific participation questions rather than a generic blog summary.
Knott’s states that accessibility policies incorporate ride-manufacturer guidelines and ADA requirements. Its accessibility hub covers attraction access, hearing/visual needs, casts, braces, prosthetic devices and service animals.
The official Soak City page links a dedicated assistance guide through its PDF viewer. The viewer did not expose dependable machine-readable full text during this audit, so this page intentionally does not invent unseen transfer, cast, prosthetic or service-animal restrictions.
Current/legacy official attraction guidance for Sunset River specifically describes alternate access via the Outside River Entrance using a wheelchair lift and says a water wheelchair can be requested first come, first served.
If a mobility, transfer, cast, prosthetic, sensory or service-animal requirement may affect participation, open the current guide or ask Guest Services about that exact attraction.
Teen groups: Soak City uses Knott’s current chaperone rules
All guests age 15 or younger must have a chaperone age 21 or older when the policy is active.
Monday–Thursday
Policy is in effect by 4 PM. Knott’s can begin enforcement earlier on a specific day.
Friday & Sunday
Policy is in effect by 1 PM.
Saturday
Current policy applies all day.
Group size
One qualifying adult may accompany no more than 10 guests age 15 or younger per day.
Adult ID
The chaperone needs valid government-issued photo identification showing date of birth.
Adult remains inside
The chaperone must enter with the party, stay inside the park and remain available by phone.
A better first hour: decide storage and heights before the gates open
Tickets + parking ready
Have the Soak City barcode and parking plan ready so the group is not comparing products at the entrance.
Set locker + meeting point
Secure phones, keys and wallets and choose the exact place everyone returns to after splitting up.
Do one must-ride
48-inch thrill riders can prioritize Shore Break or Old Man Falls; 42-inch groups can head toward their highest-value eligible attraction.
Use flexible water time later
Move to Sunset River, Tidal Wave Bay, Beach House or Gremmie Lagoon after the most important queues are handled.
Why “Knott’s Water Park San Diego” is still searched
The query has a real historical basis, but it no longer describes a current Knott’s waterpark.
Chula Vista
Knott’s previously operated a Soak City waterpark in Chula Vista in San Diego County.
Aquatica San Diego
After the property changed ownership, SeaWorld relaunched it as Aquatica San Diego.
Sesame Place San Diego
The Chula Vista property now operates under the Sesame Place brand. Current Knott’s Soak City is in Buena Park.
Address, phone and arrival context
Knott’s Soak City Waterpark
Official Knott’s resort directions address:
8039 Beach Blvd
Buena Park, CA 90620
Information Center:
(714) 220-5200
Visit Buena Park also lists the Soak City attraction around 8200 Beach Blvd. For arrival, use the official Knott’s map/directions system and the dedicated waterpark/parking maps instead of relying on one third-party pin.
How to plan the visit in seven practical steps
Confirm the current Buena Park park
Use Knott’s Soak City next to Knott’s Berry Farm, not an old Chula Vista/San Diego listing.
Check your exact operating day
Confirm Soak City is open and read the waterpark hours for that specific date.
Choose admission before add-ons
Compare the $50+ dated ticket, $70 Any Day product, passholder friend offer, group rate or qualifying Gold/Prestige access.
Measure children without shoes
Use 42 inches and 48 inches as the main attraction breakpoints, then check separate life-jacket rules.
Save the two maps
Open the Soak City map for the waterpark and the separate parking map for arrival.
Choose storage or shade only if useful
Plan a locker for valuables and compare cabana location/capacity before buying a premium seating product.
Check entry and chaperone rules
Teen groups need the correct adult, ID and phone availability; every party should recheck current park rules before leaving.
Official source and PDF audit: what controls each answer
Used for $50+ dated admission, $39+ Bring-A-Friend and the $70 Good Any Day product. Legacy 2025 prices were rejected.
Used for $99 basic, $129 Gold and $329 Prestige sale pricing, plus which tiers currently list waterpark admission and parking.
Used for $40+ daily parking and the $90 2027 all-season parking add-on. The old $35 knotts.com amount is treated as stale.
The current map resource was verified. Its viewer did not expose dependable full document text, so no unseen PDF labels are invented.
The current accessibility hub links a dedicated waterpark guide. High-stakes ride-access details should be checked there or with Guest Services.
Older knotts.com pages still surface prior ticket, parking and hour figures. Live Six Flags transaction/policy pages take priority.
